Funder Delegation Fees and Costs
Airfare and Hotel
Airfare arrangements are made independently by delegation members. You should plan to arrive by January 18 and to depart on January 25. The hotel should be able to accommodate you if you would like to arrive earlier or depart later.
FNTG has secured rooms at the historic Stanley Hotel, now part of the Sarova Hotels group. This hotel was chosen for it’s central location and amenities, as a safe and handy oasis for informal meetings or for those times when you just need to temporarily escape the heat and hubbub of non-stop forum events…
Rooms booked using FNTG group rate are US$ 150 (single) and US$ 170 (double). This rate includes breakfast and all government taxes, as well as free wireless internet access for those with portable computers. Additional information about the hotel and its various services (including a business center, fitness center and pool) can be found at http://www.sarovahotels.com/stanley/index.php.
Delegation Fees
The basic delegation fee payable to FNTG for organizing and communication costs, welcome dinner, orientation materials, briefings, local transportation for site visits and official WSF registration is $485. Early bird registration (by November 1, 2006) is $425.
Additional Fee in Support of the WSF
Funders attending the WSF are strongly encouraged to provide grant support to Forum organizing, either directly or through the World Social Forum/Tides Center fund (see here for details).
In the case of foundations or giving programs which have not made a grant to the 2007 WSF, an additional amount is required from delegates. These additional funds will be provided to WSF organizers on behalf of the delegation. The suggested sliding scale amounts are the following:
$5,000
(For funding programs that provide more than $1,000,000 annually)
$3,000
(For those that provide $100,000 to $1 million in annual giving)
$1,500
(For those that provide less than $100,000 in annual giving)
