NameSolidago Foundation
DescriptionThe Solidago Foundation seeks to promote lasting change based on the values of justice, equity, sustainability and enfranchisement for all. To this end, Solidago supports grassroots organizing within historically oppressed communities that are in connection with other allies and forces for positive progressive change. We believe the greatest potential can be reached when this organizing is mobilized within a movement-building frame that combines vision, analysis, and strategic use of the electoral process to build political consciousness and engagement for a more democratic and just world. Solidago often funds work less likely to receive support from traditional funding sources in the four program areas of economic justice, environmental justice, global justice and electoral justice. Solidago also gives special attention to metro areas within their state contexts (specifically Albuquerque, Boston, Los Angeles, New York and Oakland) as the emerging epicenter of multi-racial, cross-issue movements for deep social change in the U.S..
