| Description | IATP promotes social justice, democratic human rights, peace, and sustainable development at the local, national and global levels, concentrating primarily in the areas of trade and investment policy in agriculture, food, water, forestry, fisheries, intellectual property, eco-labels, government procurement, and hazardous substances. IATP has offices in Geneva, Brussels, Seattle, Eugene, Washington DC, and Minneapolis with a staff of 50. In 2003 our main activities will include the upcoming WTO ministerial meeting in Cancun, the 4th World Water Congress in Kyoto, global trade negotiations underway on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries issues, the links between trade conflicts and military conflicts, and the development of a new international system of certification for sustainable agriculture. |
