DescriptionAt the FTAA summit meeting in Miami this November, community-based organizations will step forward and claim their place in the global justice movement. PEOPLE -- a partnership of the Miami Workers Center, Project South, and United for a Fair Economy -- is seeking support to train these organizations' leaders. Starting with workshops in South Florida, we're offering trainings nationwide for community, labor, and environmental groups. Outcomes will include an ongoing campaign on the local effects of the FTAA, an extensive network of grassroots popular educators in Miami and nationwide, accessible materials and training models in English and Spanish, a November forum on Globalization and the African World, and a similar forum for Latinos.
