| Description | CIR is an independent nonprofit journalism organization that cares more about correcting injustice than making a profit. We inject tough but fair-minded investigative reporting into the news, by investing early on in promising stories to give them a chance in the increasingly competitive news marketplace; producing in-depth, high impact multimedia investigations; and maximizing their impact by promoting our findings to decision makers, citizens and our journalism peers. Together, these activities equip citizens with the information needed to participate fully in the democratic process and bring about needed changes in laws, regulations, and the operations of government, corporations, and institutions. |
