DescriptionThe Development GAP is celebrating a quarter century of working for economic justice in partnership with civil-society organizations across the South. With first-hand experience in more than 40 countries and with the major Northern aid and policymaking institutions, it creates platforms in Washington for advocacy by its Southern partners, assists in the mobilization of citizens across borders and sectors, jointly analyzes policies related to aid, trade and the international financial institutions, and helps shape and demonstrate alternative policies that reflect local realities and priorities. Current efforts include the ongoing coordination of two major civil-society networks: SAPRIN, which challenges World Bank and IMF policies in countries on four continents; and the Alliance for Responsible Trade, which helps fashion a common citizen approach to economic integration in the Americas.
