| Description | The Rural Coalition/Coalición Rural is a bi-national alliance of regionally and culturally diverse organizations in the United States and Mexico working to build a more just and sustainable food system. Our work is centered around the belief that widely held ownership of land and equitable participation in decision making are fundamental tenants of a democratic society. Our programs include advocating for national and international policies which seek to correct the longstanding systemic inequities that have separated farmworkers and minority farmers in particular, and family farmers in general from the land, and profoundly damaged our global resource base, land and climate. Along with cooperative economic development efforts including the formation of an alternative “People to People” trade network. |
