Project overview | EarthRights International (ERI) stands at the forefront of the movement to ensure that corporations are held legally accountable for their actions overseas. ATCA, the law upon which our litigation rests, is momentarily safe after surviving a Supreme Court ruling earlier this year, and our lawsuit against Unocal is proceeding in state and federal courts. As the courts continue to define ATCA, it also faces potential threats in Congress should the administration and the business lobby attempt to limit or revise it through legislation. ERI seeks funding for our legal program to ensure continued accountability for corporate human rights abuses, through both judicial and legislative processes. |
