| Project overview | In 2005, NFFC will organize grassroots members to raise farm and rural concerns about the pending CAFTA agreement. Building on the just completed farmer tour in El Salvador and Midwest Farm tour in 2003, NFFC will host farm leaders from organizations in CAFTA countries to galvanize U.S. opposition to the agreement.
Two goals of the events will be to build the organizing capacity of host member groups and to increase farm and local media on the negative impacts of CAFTA and free trade policies on farmers and rural communities in the U.S. and around the world. |
