Project overview | Historically, OWIT has been a volunteer-run organization. All fundraising and administrative functions have been performed by the OWIT Executive and Board. As the organization has grown, time demands for these functions have increased. It is no longer realistic or sustainable that volunteers will continue to carry out these functions in a consistent, timely manner going forward.
At its recent board meeting in Washington, DC, the OWIT board unanimously approved a motion to establish an Executive Director position for the organization. This position will play a critical role in managing both the current and future growth of the organization going forward.
Securing initial seed funding for this position is critical. We are seeking funding for a three-year period in order to establish this important position for our organization. After that time, we believe we will be in a much better position to fund the position through other avenues. However, in order to build this capacity now, we need to secure initial funding to make this project a reality.
