Project overview | "Siguida Keneyali" means “Health in our Homes” in Bambara, the most common language in Mali, West Africa.
Siguida Keneyali is a community empowerment project focused on building health networking and social action in the peri-urban area of Sikoro, Mali.
It is a collaboration of Malian leadership and several American students who believe that health is a human right and that the active involvement of civil society and lay knowledge in procuring this right is essential to improving health outcomes.
By aiding in the establishment of a community center, community health action group, and peer networking/ education Siguida Keneyali will provide a systematic and sustainable way to begin to address the major health issues deemed important by the community, as well as the growing HIV/AIDS crisis. |
