Project overview | This full-scale popular education project will train environmental and community-based organizations (CBOs) to educate their members and the public about the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA).
The partners are Miami Workers Center, Project South, and United for a Fair Economy. By combining our training and support models, we will identify, document, and disseminate especially effective methods that CBOs can use to contextualize globalization in their local work. Globalizing Civil Society (GCS) will track and evaluate this pilot project, drawing lessons to inform global/local popular education in the future.
Outcomes will include:
- expanded, updated global curriculum in English and Spanish,
- an ongoing campaign on the local effects of the FTAA, and
- an extensive network of grassroots global popular educators in Miami and nationwide. |
