Project overview | Since the earliest announcement of a potential hemispheric free trade area in 1993, IATP has played a lead role in analyzing the many draft proposals of various official working groups - particularly on agriculture, intellectual property rights (IPR) and the democratic principle of civil society participation in economic planning. In the months and years to come, IATP will continue to play this role, working on several tracks to provide a progressive critique of the implications of the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), and progressive alternative models for fair trade within the context of the FTAA. |
