| Project overview | Can the global justice movement really stop CAFTA and thus the Free Trade Area of the Americas? The decision in Congress will be very close – one or two votes. We must bring powerful new constituencies in on our side. United for a Fair Economy is working with two: Latino immigrants and non-industrial unions. While leading dozens of CAFTA workshops with Laborers, Janitors, Healthcare workers, and Central Americans, we are discussing immigration and jobs policies that would work for them. Then, if we defeat CAFTA, we can start enacting our global justice agenda. |
