| Project overview | Core Group Program – a transformative experience that ignites young people of color in the social justice movement to action. This year long program works with developing young leaders and organizers of color ages 15 to 25 with at least two years of organizing experience and is current an active member of a local grassroots or communities organization. In its pilot year rooted in our local community, the Core Group Program is working intensively with young leaders from grassroots and community organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. This program is unique in that it infuses leadership development with exposure trips to empower the participants to synthesizie their learned experiences from the program into their local organizing efforts, which will consequently strengthen, not only in their organization, its membership, and community, but the movement as well. |
